Since mid September, heavy rains in the northern part of Nigeria including the neighbouring Niger has led to flooding in some states especially those bordering with the Sahel country of Niger continue to cause more human and material damages in the affected communities. These areas are also pastoralist land where population are in need of water which made the people to settle along the river banks. Among the most affect states are Jigawa, Sokoto and Kebbi though others like Niger, Katsina have also been affected.
