Tropical Cyclone Yasi crossed the Queensland Coast as a category 5 cyclone just before midnight on 2 the 2nd February. No reports of fatalities or serious injuries have been reported. The towns of Ingham, Tully and Cardwell sustained significant damage to housing and infrastructure. Innisfail have also been affected although to a lesser extent. Other stateshave also been affected as reported below. The cyclone has been weakening since making landfall and was downgraded to a category 1 system at 4pm on 3 February. Damaging winds and possible flash flooding in and around Mt Isa are expected as the cyclone moves inland.
