The Ministry of Health reported an outbreak of meningococcal meningitis, which started in the second week of January 2012. As of 25 Mar, a total of 1,708 cases and 88 deaths have been reported from 45 districts. Seven districts have crossed the epidemic threshold and three have crossed the alert threshold.
