Since 21 August 2014, Bibemi Subdivision, located some 64 kilometres from the city of Garoua (capital of the North Region of Cameroon) has been experiencing heavy rainfall (about 180 mm) that has caused severe flooding in more than 10 villages of the Subdivision, leaving extensive damage and loss of life (a 14-year-old girl drowned) in its wake.
