[Population movement] Since mid-May 2021, the number of people who enter Lithuania illegally from Belarus has been increasing rapidly. As of 3 July 2021, the total number of new arrivals was 1098. The number indicates a 1256% increase in illegal border crossings, compared to year 2020. Following the series of current events, Lithuania declared a state of emergency on 2 July 2021.
