Comments:
The persistent remnants of Tropical Storm Allison produced rainfall amounts of 30-40 inches in portions of coastal Texas and Louisiana, causing severe flooding especially in the Houston area. The storm then moved slowly northeastward; fatalities and significant damage reported in TX, LA, MS, FL, VA, and PA. NOAA reports $5 billion in damages. Twenty-two deaths were caused by Allison, with each of these fatalities occurred in Harris County.
