A massive storm and heavy rains descended on Ukraine 22-24 July, spreading across 14 oblasts or 56% of the country's territory. Squall gusts of wind reached 15-20m/sec. They caused extensive damage to dwelling houses and other buildings, destroyed food stocks and infrastructure such as telephone and electricity lines which resulted in frequent telecommunication and power black outs
