Comments: Flashfloods triggered by two days of heavy rains have displaced thousands of people in the central Philippines, officials said Thursday. In nearby Negros Occidental province meanwhile, nearly 6,000 people have been displaced by floods that hit at least five villages, local media quoted the regional social welfare department as saying. The rains were caused by a storm brewing off the central Visayas region, with the state weather bureau saying it was expected to dump more rain in the coming days.
