The water level in the local river and stream has risen due to incessant rainfall from the past few days, forcing the residents of Simal Khet, Tatopani, Sarkunda, Sisamjhal, Thandajala, Sarkuda and Parigaun to flee to the nearby community forest. Villages of Siraha and Dadeldhura districts had been completely inundated. The flooding has also destroyed paddy harvest and other crops, causing serious losses to local farmers.
