Some 72,680 people in Ethiopia's Afar, Somali and SNNP regions were affected by flooding in September and October 2014. More than 50,000 people were displaced, having partially or totally lost their homes and livelihoods. The forecasted good performance of the deyr (October-December) rains in the Somali region pose a continued risk of flooding. The Government and humanitarian partners started mobilizing resources.
