According to Civil Protection, heavy rains in El Salvador since October 12 has caused at least four deaths. Authorities in the municipality of Ilopango identified some 400 homes at risk of collapse due to landslides from depleted soils, which led to the preventive evacuation of hundreds of people. Civil Protection declared an orange level alert along the Pacific coast and the volcanic mountain range of El Salvador and a yellow level alert for the rest of the country. The Ministry of Education also suspended all school activity.
