| Comments: | On 3 June, heavy rainfall hit the departments of Ouest, Nippes, Sud-Est, Nord-Ouest and Centre causing floods, triggering landslides and resulting in casualties and damage. According to the Haitian Civil Protection, 15 people died, eight are missing, almost 13,400 people have been displaced, 7,475 families affected (5,510 in the Ouest Department), and more than 1,200 houses flooded. Emergency response teams have been mobilised to provide support for the affected communities and to assess the damage. For the next 24 hours, light rain is expected across most parts of the country. |
