| Comments: | In the last few days, heavy rainfall has affected parts of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), particularly the eastern and southern areas, causing floods and triggering landslides that resulted in casualties and damage. According to media, as of 28 December, 60 fatalities have been reported, of whom 22 were in Kasai-Central Province, 20 in Bukavu City (South Kivu Province) and 20 in Burhinyi Village, 50 km from Bukavu City. Moreover, 16 people are still missing and more than 1,400 houses have been damaged. |
