Comments: Tropical cyclone "Daryl" spawned a stormy weather off the western coast of Australia during the second week of January. The cyclonic winds from this disturbance descended upon the island of Timor-Leste for four days and destroyed more than 500 houses and corn and rice crops in at least four districts (Ainaro, Bobnaro, Baucau & Viqueque). The situation in the district became worse on 31 January when it rained for eleven hours. The Tono River broke its bank and inundated the surrounding villages. At least ten upland and lowland villages affected.
