On September 24, the CNE declared Red Alert for the Municipality of Aguirre within the Quepos area due to the disaster situation caused by constant and heavy rains (19 communities reportedly flooded). Yellow Alert is maintained in the municipalities of Hojancha, Nandayure, Nicoya and Santa Cruz in the province of Guanacaste and the rest of the Pacific Slope. According to the last report from CNE, 637 people were evacuated. Of these, 426 are being housed in 15 temporary shelters and 211 people were transferred to houses of relatives and friends.
