| Comments: | On October 27, an intensified conflict occurred between the ethnic armed groups known as the Three Brotherhood Alliance's “Operation 1027” and the Myanmar Armed Forces (MAF) in the north of Myanmar's Shan State, targeting the Chinese border town of Kokang. Another armed conflict escalated in seven townships in Rakhine State and Chin on November 16. Clashes are ongoing in five states/regions, out of seven in Myanmar, namely Northern Shan, Rakhine, Southern Chin, Sagaing, and Kayah. Martial law has been imposed on additional townships in multiple states and the main forms of transportation between Sittwe and Yangon are closed. |
