Comments: Since the beginning of the rainy season in July 2012, torrential rains have caused local flooding in several areas of Senegal, including St. Louis (North), Bambey (center) and Dakar. After heavy rains on 26 Aug, the Government launched an emergency plan. So far over 6,500 houses have been destroyed and more than 5,000 families have been displaced. The flooding has also contaminated 7,700 drinking water sources.
