Comments: Iran was hit by heavy snow storm which caused a number of avalanches, with the build up of ice on the roads causing numerous traffic accidents. Tehran declared two days of national holiday, as temperatures dropped to -24 degrees Celsius or lower. The heavy snow and bitterly cold weather caused scores of deaths.
