| Comments: | UN Resident Coordinator issued consolidated report on damage caused by torrential rains to Northern and Central Luzon including Metro Manila area, brought by Typhoon Gening (international code name Kent). Number of persons affected in regions I, III, IV, V and national capital region (Metro Manila) totalled 178,803 or 36,008 families. Casualties totalled 4. In province of Ilocos Norte, damage to infrastructure and agriculture mounts to about USD 252,000 (p 6,407 million). Province of Batanes was devastated, but confirmed details are not yet available due to destruction of communication lines.
