Floods have killed 37 people in north and north-eastern Thailand, and some 1.5 million people are affected. Thirteen provinces still remain under water even after tropical storm Nock Ten. Weeks of torrential rains poured, prompting rivers to swell before eventually overflowing. Excess river water gushed into neighboring refugee camps in the Mae Hongson province, destroying hundreds of temporary shelters and causing substantial destruction. Mae Ra Ma Luang and Mae La Oon camps were badly affected, forcing more than 2,000 people to flee their homes.
