Comments: Hurricane Gustav left Cuba and made it's way across the Gulf of Mexico late on August 31 and made landfall early September 1 in Louisiana. It was a Category 2 hurricane when it made landfall and caused significant storm surge, flooding and wind damage to Louisiana, Alabama, Arkansas, Mississippi, Texas and Florida.
