FL-2021-000055-TJK Flood Tajikistan As a result of intense rains heavy rains within May 5-12, 2021 in the territory of a number of districts of the Khatlon region and the DRS, mudflows were recorded, which, unfortunately, entailed human casualties. As a result of the disaster, damage was recorded to residential buildings, household plots, arable land, destruction of auxiliary structures, as well as erosion of the roadway. By May 12, 2021 according to last information: • 58 houses totally damaged • 123 houses partially damaged • 56 auxiliary buildings were damaged • 100 land plots were affected • 167 families evacuated Due to on-going rainy days, the scale of damages can be grown and the number of damages will be changed. 
DR-2021-000054-SOM Drought Somalia On 1st May 2021, the Government of Somalia declared a National Emergency due to the Drought situation and called for support in responding to the humanitarian crisis.  
FL-2021-000053-ETH Flood Ethiopia The Early Warning Department of the National Disaster Risk Management Commission released the second issue of the National Flood Alert listing additional areas at risk of flooding and landslides, while several parts of the country continue to receive average to above average Belg/spring season rainfall since April. In Afar Region, some 27,400 persons have been displaced by flooding due to heavy rain and winds in Gulina, Ewa, and Beyalo, Dulecha, Harunka, and Mile Woredas. Livestock death was also reported. In SNNP Region, hailstorm damaged crops in Chama Hembecho and Afama Mino Kebeles of Boloso Sore Woreda in Wolayta Zone and some 250 hectares of land has been flooded in Abela Abaya Woreda. Some 11,200 households have been displaced and 8,019 households affected by flooding due to heavy Gu rains in Shabelle, Jarar, Dolo, Afder, Fafan, and Korahe Zones of Somali Region. The flooding also resulted in the death of 7,069 sheep and goats, 17 camels, 609 cows and damaged 4,049 hectares of cropland. Nine people were also reportedly killed in Dire Dawa City following the collapse of a wall due to heavy rains on 2 May 2021.  
OT-2021-000052-PSE Other Palestine (West Bank, Gaza) Three locations in East Jerusalem (EJ) - Al Aqsa Mosque, Damascus Gate, and Sheikh Jarrah - have been hotspots throughout Ramadan. The intensity of confrontations have increased in the last few days. More than 300 people have been injured in confrontations thus far and more confrontations are expected in the coming days 
FL-2021-000051-SOM Flood Somalia Reports indicate that at least 25 people have been killed due to the heavy rains including nine children who died after their house flooded in Banadir on 7 May, and four people killed by lightening in Puntland on 5 May. In Middle Shabelle region, riverine flooding has affected an estimated 25,000 people in 15 villages in Jowhar, 
FL-2021-000050-AFG Flood Afghanistan Several provinces were affected by widespread flash flooding events since 3 May which have caused fatalities and destroyed homes. At least 37 people have died, more than 910 households were affected, dozens of homes destroyed, irrigation canals damaged and livestock lost across ten provinces in central, northern and western regions of Afghanistan, according to the Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority. Assessments and the provision of humanitarian assistance are ongoing but slowed down by access constraints. 
FL-2021-000049-RWA Flood Rwanda Since the beginning of January 2020, Rwanda has increasingly experienced heavy rains, thunders and strong windstorm, affecting most parts of the country. From 28 April to 2nd May 2021, extensive flooding and mudslides been reported in Burera District due to waterflows and rocks from the volcanoes. The effects of rains and windstorm is also observed in other districts including Gicumbi and Kayonza Districts. This has led to extensive destruction of houses, crops, latrines death of livestock, destruction of the roads, and loss of households’ materials and even human death.  
EP-2021-000047-KEN Epidemic Kenya According to the county department of health in Mombasa the first dengue cases were reported in early March 2021 with 24 cases testing positive out of 47 (51% positivity rate). In April another 305 cases tested positive out of 315 (97% positivity rate). The adjacent Lamu county, has also reported a total of 224 positive cases from different health facilities where 59 are children under 5 years old. Cumulatively, 529 cases have been reported within the past 2 months of March and April. No deaths have been reported so far within the two counties.  
OT-2021-000046-KGZ Other Kyrgyzstan On 28-29 April 2021, the tensions between the residents of Kyrgyzstan (Batken province) and Tajikistan (Sughd province) in the border areas escalated into an armed conflict, resulting in casualties and displacement of thousands of people in both countries. As of late 29 April, the governments of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan announced their agreement on ceasefire and continued to work during 30 April – 3 May on stabilizing the situation in border areas, including on cessation of all hostilities and withdrawal of military forces from the point of contact. As of 4 May, the situation seemed to have got under control. 
FL-2021-000045-GEO Flood Georgia On 29 April, heavy rain, hailstorm, and wind-affected Kakheti Region of Georgia. Agricultural lands, fruit trees, roofs got destroyed and many buildings flooded. In total, 1300 households (3900 people) were affected. 
ST-2021-000044-CHN SEVERE LOCAL STORM China, People's Republic Eleven people were killed and dozens injured after strong gales struck east China's Jiangsu Province, the provincial authorities said Saturday. Gales and hail swept parts of Jiangsu on Friday night, including Nantong, Huai'an, Yancheng, Taizhou and Suqian. The disaster has left 11 people dead, 66 injured and 3,050 evacuated, according to the Jiangsu Provincial Emergency Management Department. 
FL-2021-000043-YEM Flood Yemen Torrential rains and flooding which started in mid-April continued into May; intensified rainfall over the past few days is causing damage to infrastructure, destroying homes and shelter and causing deaths and injuries. 
OT-2021-000042-MMR Other Myanmar Since 1st February 2021, Myanmar has been undergoing a political crisis with civil unrest impacting across Myanmar’s regions and states, precipitating a humanitarian crisis with affected populations across many parts of the country. After detaining civilian leaders on 1st February, the Myanmar Military announced the suspension of the new elected parliament, following November 2020 elections. A State of Emergency was declared for one year and a State Administration Council (SAC) formed under military leadership. Following these events, public demonstrations and a Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM) have been ongoing. 
AV-2021-000041-IND Snow Avalanche India A glacier burst triggered an avalanche in Chamoli District (Uttarakhand State, northern India) on 23 April, resulting in casualties. According to media reports, at least 11 people have died, seven are missing, six have been injured and hundreds have been rescued. 
TC-2021-000040-PHL Tropical Cyclone Philippines The passage of Tropical Cyclone SURIGAE over the Philippine Sea continues to affect the eastern coast of central and northern Philippines, resulting in four fatalities and 13 injured people, as reported by national authorities on 22 April. More than 235,750 people have been affected across Cagayan Valley, Bicol, Eastern Visayas and Caraga Regions. 
TC-2021-000040-PLW Tropical Cyclone Palau Tropical Disturbance (Invest 94W) centered southeast of Yap and Palau on 13 April, upgraded to Tropical Storm 02W (Surigae) on the 14 April, and a Typhoon Watch on the 16 April until 17 April. Typhoon Surigae passed over the north of Palau closest to Kayangel state with up to 136 km/h sustained wind speeds. Heavy rainfall and swells caused power outage, disrupted communication services, water cuts and road blockages from fallen debris, and landslides. Homes have been damaged or destroyed along with valuable belongings and farming investments. Around 301 people evacuated to 20 safe shelters, with no lives lost. 
FL-2021-000039-BDI Flood Burundi Lake Tanganyika water level have been rising since February 2021. Heavy rainfall since the start of April has worsened the situation with further rainfall predicted until mid-May. As of 19 April 2021, the level of Lake Tanganyika stood at 776.4 metres above sea level compared to the normal average level of 772.7 metres. From April 12, 2021 in the province of Rumonge households near the shores were flooded. In parts of the lakes, it reported the coastline has expanded 300 to 500m. Houses are flooded, and families forced to leave to evacuation centres or host families. UNOCHA reported around 8,000 families have been affected and 2,000 displaced by flooding in lakeside communities including Bugarama, Kanyenkoko, Muhuta, Nyanza-Lac, Gatumba, Rukaramu, Kibenga, Gisyo and Kabondo. Two casualties have been recorded to date. On 20 April 2021, the Government (through the Meteorological Director General) officially declared the disaster and asked the affected populations to evacuate the flooded areas in the provinces of Rumonge, Makamba in the Nyanza-Lac Commune, Bujumbura Capital and Bujumbura Rural in the Mutimbuzi Commune in the zone of the Gatumba and Rukaramu areas. The Government has asked humanitarian actors to be mobilized to assist the affected people. Rains are expected till mid-May. As the waters continue to rise and the impact of the floods evolves continued assessment is underway by BRCS and other humanitarian partners. In addition, the Government are also considering their response in the short and long term it meets the needs of the affected population living in flood and landslide affected areas. OT-2021-000039-EGY Other Egypt 18 April 2021 around 3 PM the ERC Emergency Operation Center had received an emergency signal about the incident of the train crash. the ERC volunteers from the Nearby branch to the location and from the HQ had deployed. volunteers assisted the public ambulance authority and provided First Aid, Psychological First aid at the scene of the accident. Also, they had assisted the injured people and the relatives of the victims by blankets and mattresses, medical support, blood units and meals... 
FL-2021-000038-KEN Flood Kenya According to the Kenya Meteorological Department (KMD), the Climate Outlook for the 2021 March-April-May “Long Rains” season indicates that several parts of the country will experience enhanced rainfall while North Eastern parts of the country will receive below-average rainfall. Based on the state of the Ocean and the early onset, KMD has been issuing heavy rainfall advisories with the most recent being 19 April 2021 . The advisory indicated that heavy rainfall was expected over North East, South East, the Coastal Regions of Kenya, Western and Central regions including Nairobi Area. As predicted, from mid-March heavy rainfalls have been experienced in the country with the Western parts of the country being the most affected through displacement of populations and disruption of livelihoods. Tana River county has received moderate rains but some parts have been affected by flash floods due to waters from the rains upstream 
OT-2021-000037-BGD Other Bangladesh The Government of Bangladesh (GoB) planned to relocate approximately 100,000 displaced people from Rakhine state in Myanmar currently living in the camps in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh, to Bashan Char (BC). This is a Special Response Plan to extend humanitarian services to relocated people in Bashan Char which is separated from Population Movement Operation in Cox’s Bazar. This plan is an annex to Bangladesh operational plan and part of Regional Displacement Strategy for people from Myanmar. 
TC-2021-000036-TZA Tropical Cyclone Tanzania Tropical Cyclone Jobo is approaching Dar Es Salaam, the largest city in Tanzania. Jobo may be the first landfall in Tanzania since 1952. Tropical Storm Jobo which is expected to make landfall in the Indian Ocean coastal area of Tanzania on the 26th of April 2021 The tropical storm is expected to cause high swells, rough sea conditions, heavy rain fall, strong winds and flooding. Increase of rain is expected in Dar es Salaam, Tanga, Pemba, Lindi, Pwani, Morogoro, Mtwara regions and to the south coast of Tanzania and around Lake Victoria (UNOCHA update). Strong winds are expected along the coast and most at risk areas are in the central and south coast of Tanzania, Mtwara region (total population: 1,270,854 people), Dar es Salaam region (total population: 6,400,000), Pwani region (total population: 1,265,500) and Lindi region (total population:864,652 people).  
FL-2021-000035-HTI Flood Haiti From 3 to 4 April heavy rains fell over the Northern regions of Haiti. According to last reports from the Civil Protection, flooding was reported in North West, North East and North Departments affecting at least 11 communes. Preliminary assessments indicate a toll of 2,676 affected households, 3 fatalities and 3 people still missing. Rapid assessments by the Ministry of Agriculture (MARNDR) and FAO estimate that 160 hectares of agricultural land have been severely affected. Important loses in livestock were also reported in North East department. Further assessments on the impact on agriculture are still to be undertaken in the departments of North and North East. 
VO-2021-000034-VCT Volcano Saint Vincent & The Grenadines The Caribbean island of Saint Vincent has declared a red alert and issued an evacuation order for northern areas after seismologists warned that the La Soufrière volcano due to La Soufrière Volcano. The Volcano has been increasingly active since November. On Monday, April 5th, researchers from the University of the West Indies reported that its monitoring station had detected a “swarm of small volcano-tectonic earthquakes”, which increased steadily in magnitude. NEMO report that it has seen ash plumes of up to 8 kilometres high, and ash has also been found at that Argyle International Airport roughly 19 km to the south.

Following its passage, the Indonesian National Board for Disaster Management reports 128 fatalities, 72 people missing and 8,424 people displaced in East Nusa Tenggara. The Government of Timor-Leste reports 27 fatalities and 7,000 displaced in Dili.

Flood,Kyrgyzstan: The water volume in the high-mountain lake Takyr-Tor at approximately 17:31 on June 27 reached 450,000-500,000 cubic meters, resulting in a dam breach, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reports.The breach caused flooding, which destroyed one of the bridges between the villages of Almaluu and Kebek-Biy (Mountain Serafimovka) in Issyk-Ata district.

Flood,Pakistan: Since 26 June, heavy rainfall has affected Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan provinces, causing casualties and infrastructure damage. According to National Disaster Preparedness Authorities (NDMA), during the last five days, 45 people died, 68 were injured, 1,050 displacements were recorded and 89 houses are fully and partially damaged.
