DR-2024-000016-MHL Drought Marshall Islands The islands and atolls have not experienced rainfall since November 2023. Within these atolls, the conditions of individual islands and islets vary. Some islands have not received any rain for the past 3 to 6 months. According to the recent outlook advisory issued by the National Weather Service and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration(NOAA), drought conditions continue to build across the region with the ongoing dry pattern. Palau and parts of the RMI recently received beneficial rains, but dry weather will ultimately resume with showers remaining suppressed south. El Niño ‘dry phase' is still persistent and thus there will be a high likelihood of many locations experiencing severe to extreme drought 
FL-2024-000015-ECU Flood Ecuador Heavy rainfall has been affecting northern and western Ecuador, in particular Esmeraldas, Manabí and Los Rios Provinces since 30 January, causing floods that have resulted in population displacement and damage. 
EP-2024-000014-COM Epidemic Comoros the Comoros Ministry of Health declared a cholera epidemic on Friday, February 2, 2024, at 8 p.m. local time. A Cholera Treatment Center (CTC) has been activated in Samba to treat cholera cases (hospital on the outskirts of Moroni). This has been confirmed by the Dar Es Alam Laboratory and reaffirmed by the Comoros Ministry of Health. 
DR-2024-000013-COL Drought Colombia On 27 January 2024, by Decree No. 037, the Government of Colombia declared a National Disaster Situation for a period of 12 months, due to the impact of the "El Niño" phenomenon, which is a climate variability phenomenon that occurs every two to seven years due to the warming of the Pacific Ocean

FL-2024-000011-PHL Flood Philippines On 28 January 2024, the Northeast Monsoon and the Trough of the Low Pressure Area (LPA) affected Mindanao. The trough of the LPA continued to bring light to heavy rains until 02 February 2024. This resulted in flooding and landslide incidents in some areas in Mindanao. On 03 February 2024, 11:00 AM, the Low-Pressure Area (LPA) has dissipated. A total of 14 cities/municipalities were declared under the State of Calamity.

FL-2024-000009-COD Flood Congo Democratic Republic In the last few days, heavy rainfall has affected parts of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), particularly the eastern and southern areas, causing floods and triggering landslides that resulted in casualties and damage. According to media, as of 28 December, 60 fatalities have been reported, of whom 22 were in Kasai-Central Province, 20 in Bukavu City (South Kivu Province) and 20 in Burhinyi Village, 50 km from Bukavu City. Moreover, 16 people are still missing and more than 1,400 houses have been damaged.  
FL-2024-000008-ZAF Flood South Africa On the 7th of January 2024 to date, storm surge resulted in flooding affected KwaZulu Natal and Free State province. Around 1,226 households, (6,418 people) were affected in Free State and KwaZulu Natal. Severe damages were also reported

SS-2024-000006-MHL Storm Surge Marshall Islands On 20 January, powerful waves, driven by offshore storm surges, struck several areas in the Marshall Islands. The event originated from a powerful winter storm system in the far northern Pacific. The strong winds generated a large swell that reached Roi Namur Islet in the northern part of Kwajalein Atoll. This weather-driven wave and inundation event, distinct from a tsunami, resulted from a significant wind-generated swell breaking on the Roi-Namur shores. Reports suggest inundation in other locations, including Arno Atoll and the runway in Ailinglapalap of Marshall Islands. 
LS-2024-000005-CHN Land Slide China, People's Republic A landslide in China's Yunnan province killed eight people on Monday and dozens were missing as rescue operations continued in snowy, freezing temperatures.

LS-2024-000003-PHL Land Slide Philippines According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) of the Philippines reports dated 17-18 Jan 2024, Caraga and Davao Regions in Eastern Mindanao have been experiencing rains and thunderstorms since 16 January 2024 due to the shear line. According to media, at least seven people died and ten others are still missing following a landslide that occurred in Davao de Oro Province, Davao Region, south-eastern Mindanao. 
EP-2024-000002-ZMB Epidemic Zambia A cholera outbreak which was first reported in October 2023 has seen a dramatic increase in transmission since mid-December. The country has now recorded a cumulative 8,276 cases and 333 deaths, with 446 new cases and 23 deaths in the past 24 hours according to a daily update from the Ministry of Health, resulting in a case fatality rate of 4%. Thirty-one percent of the cases are in children under five years old. 
EQ-2024-000001-JPN Earthquake Japan An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 7.6 hit north central Japan on Monday, public broadcaster NHK said. The Japan Meteorological Agency issued a tsunami warning along western coastal regions of Ishikawa, Niigata and Toyama prefectures. Tsunami of up to 5 metres high are believed to be reaching Noto in Ishikawa Prefecture, according to the weather agency. Waves more than 1 metre high hit the coast of Wajima City in Ishikawa Prefecture, NHK reported. 
TC-2023-000289-GUM Tropical Cyclone Guam A Category 4 Typhoon struck Guam on May 24 battering the island for 15 hours until the early morning of May 25. Typhoon Mawar's wind speeds of up to 145 mph damaged residential and commercial buildings, vehicles and infrastructure. Several U.S. military bases including Andersen Air Force Base sustained considerable damage. Guam's international airport also sustained flood damage. 
FL-2023-000288-USA Flood United States Powerful east coast storm from Florida to Maine produced widespread impacts from heavy rainfall, flooding, high winds and coastal erosion. The heavy rainfall and snowmelt were amplified by record-high temperatures in the Northeast. 
FL-2023-000287-USA Flood United States Severe storms brought devastation and flooding to portions of the Northeast, as areas reported up to eight inches of rain within a 24-hour period. Montpelier, Vermont received a record-breaking 5.28 inches of rain, flooding the city and damaging thousands of homes and businesses. The wide scale flooding in Vermont was similar to the flood impacts from Hurricane Irene in 2011. Early estimates put the flood damage in West Point, New York at more than $100 ($103.0) million. There was also considerable damage to roads, bridges and agriculture across the Northeast. Severe storms also caused high wind and hail impacts across Wisconsin, Minnesota and Illinois. 
ST-2023-000286-USA SEVERE LOCAL STORM United States Dozens of tornadoes and severe hail storms from the eastern Rockies and across several central states. The most costly severe hail impacts were focused in Colorado while numerous tornadoes also impacted western Kansas, central Oklahoma and eastern Nebraska. Texas and North Dakota were also impacted from combination of high winds, hail and isolated tornadoes with damage to homes, businesses, vehicles, farms and other infrastructure. 
ST-2023-000285-USA SEVERE LOCAL STORM United States Texas hail storms impact numerous counties across north central Texas. Collin county in particular was impacted by golf ball to tennis ball sized hail causing damage to homes, vehicles and businesses. 
ST-2023-000284-USA SEVERE LOCAL STORM United States Severe hail storms across Colorado damaged many homes, vehicles and injured approximately 100 people at a large outdoor concert. This multi-day outbreak of severe weather also produced more than 60 tornadoes across portions of Wyoming, Colorado, Minnesota, Indiana, Kentucky and Arkansas that caused damage to homes, businesses, vehicles, agriculture and other infrastructure. 
ST-2023-000283-USA SEVERE LOCAL STORM United States More than one thousand reports of high wind, severe hail or tornadoes across many Northeastern and Eastern states. August 7 was a prolific day of severe weather with damage reports from Georgia to New York. These storms caused impacts to many homes, vehicles, businesses, agriculture and other infrastructure. 
ST-2023-000282-USA SEVERE LOCAL STORM United States Severe storms caused damage across several North Central and Eastern states. The state most impacted were Nebraska, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin. High wind, severe hail and tornadoes caused damage to many homes, vehicles, businesses and agriculture assets. 
ST-2023-000281-USA SEVERE LOCAL STORM United States Severe storms caused damage across several North Central and Southeastern states. The states most impacted were Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio, Tennessee and Georgia. Ping pong to golf ball-sized hail and high winds damaged many homes, vehicles, businesses and other infrastructure.

Heat Wave,Syrian Arab Rep: According to the Syrian General Directorate of Meteorology, a severe heatwave is forecast from 8 to 13 August 2025, with peak temperatures of 43-45°C (109-113°F) in multiple governorates. Night temperatures are expected to remain high (27-31°C), preventing nighttime cooling and exacerbating cumulative heat stress.
