The flood hit 19 provinces including East-Azarbaijan, West-Azarbayejan, Ardebil, Esfahan, Alborz, Tehran, Khorasan
Shomali, Khorasan Jonobi, Khuzestan, Semnan, Zanjan, Ghazvin, Qom, Kerman, Lorestan, Mazandaran, Markazi,
Hamedan and Yazd. Over 3,050 individuals are directly impacted by the disaster and received emergency services
by the IRCS. Almost 80 persons were evacuated by the IRCS rapid response teams and 10 were referred to the
medical clinics. 250 houses were de-watered and de-slugged by mobilizing of 138 operational teams (526 personnel)
including of 162 staff and 364 volunteers. IRCS deployed its light and heavy fleet including of 39 ambulances and 95
rescue vehicles.
During this flooding, some of the main roads in Alborz and Ghazvin provinces were totally blocked by the mud and
transportation was hindered. In some areas, the roads are collapsed which needed the operational personnel to
be working with other government agencies to facilitate access for the people. Search and rescue teams from the
provincial branches also were deployed to evacuate the missing people. The local people in some rural areas were
forced to relocate and moved to safer areas. Under the Helal Houses, some local actors informed and refrained the
passengers to being imposed by the flood. |

In the context of Nepal, Dengue cases usually increase from July coinciding with the monsoon season falling in
between June and September, with the majority of cases being reported during September. Hence, the approximate
impact will be from August to September 2023. This year, as per epidemiological data collected until April 2023, around 600 cases have been diagnosed which is highly alarming considering the usual incidence pattern in Nepal.
Until April 2023, 600 dengue (EWARS report, EDCD), cases has already been diagnosed which is highly alarming as this is the very first time that dengue has occurred in the consecutive year in contrary to the usual cyclical pattern of dengue incidence in Nepal.
On average, 20-30 cases of dengue have been found
each week in different regions of Nepal.

Among confirmed cases, there have been 152 deaths (CFR 17%). Lassa fever is endemic in Nigeria and parts of West Africa where the multimammate rat, the main reservoir of the Lassa virus, is common. Responding to the current outbreak is challenging due to the need to respond to multiple emergencies simultaneously. |

On 23 May, the National Meteorological Service (SMN) from Argentina decreed a Yellow Alert for strong storms for the provinces of Santa Fe, Córdoba, Entre Ríos and some areas of the Province of Buenos Aires, and an Orange Alert for the same threat in several areas of the center and east of the Province of Buenos Aires. Starting on 24 May, the municipality of Quilmes, province of Buenos Aires, particularly the southeast of the metropolitan area of Buenos Aires (AMBA) and on the coast of the La Plata River, was affected by heavy rains, with an accumulated rainfall of approximately 100 millimeters. As a result of these events, streams overflowed causing flooding in several areas of
the municipality.
On 26 May, new rains occurred over the city, generating greater affectations. Product of these new events, streets, roads and houses were flooded generating power outages and failure in drinking water supplies. A total of 12 neighborhoods settled on the banks of the Piedras, Santo Domingo and San Francisco streams were affected. The local Undersecretary of Emergencies and Civil Protection, with the support of the Quilmes Volunteer Fire Department, evacuated approximately 140 people who were temporarily housed in 4 shelters distributed in the western area of the municipality. |

After the first event, managed at the regional and local levels, applying the contingency plans previously defined, and closed a second, out-of-scale event, happened. There have been 379 landslides in 57 municipalities, with 672 road closures, including 414 complete closures, leaving parts of the rural area isolated. There are 23,000 evacuees distributed among Ravenna, Forlì, Bologna, and Rimini. In Conselice, due to the particular geographical situation, the community has been hit three times. Strong intervention is also needed in Faenza, where water has reached the second floor of some houses. |

On Monday 15 May 2023, torrential rain accompanied by violent winds hit Franceville, the chief town of the Haut Ogooué Province in Gabon, causing extensive damage. The damage affected a large number of families, as well as public and private infrastructures, destroying schools, shops and electricity poles.
Nearly 3,000 people, or 500 households are affected, with almost 200 homes destroyed or swept away by the violent winds that accompanied the rains. Several businesses were also affected, as were schools and administrative buildings.
Some of the victims found refuge with relatives, friends and acquaintances. The public authorities also visited the disaster sites. The city's 1st and 3rd districts were the worst hit, and the rain keeps falling on Franceville |

Dengue cases have been on the rise since the beginning of the year in the country. Indeed, the cases reported
are currently three times higher than those recorded in the corresponding period of the last two years. A higher
number of cases are recorded in the Western, Southwestern, Central, and Eastern provinces, especially in Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara, Batticaloa, Trincomalee, Galle, Kegalle, and Kandy districts.
The National Dengue Control Unit (NDCU) reported nearly 4,000 novel cases of the dengue virus within the first two weeks of May 2023, raising grave concerns about a potential epidemic, published "Adaderana" on 14 May 2023. The NDCU also revealed that the spread of the Den-3 variant of the Dengue virus is accelerating the virus spread across the country and a total of 33,742 dengue cases have been recorded across the island as of 15 May 2023. |

Dozens of firefighters and several water bombers battled two out-of-control blazes - dubbed the Tantallon Fire and the Bedford Fire - northwest of downtown Halifax, the provincial capital. Halifax Regional Fire & Emergency (HRFE) crews remain on-scene and fighting the fires burning in multiple areas, with more than 837 hectares in the impacted area. At the peak of evacuation orders, roughly 16,492 residents were evacuated from their homes. There are no reported missing people or injuries reported. |

In several towns within Bosnia and Herzegovina's Una-Sana canton, a state of natural disaster has been declared as a consequence of the recent floods caused by prolonged rainfall. Among the significantly affected areas is Bihac, where the CWS team is located. The floods have been triggered by the overflowing of the Una and Krusnica rivers, leading to consequential landslides and the temporary closure of roads. At present, it is estimated that approximately 200 buildings and houses have been impacted by the floods, including a significant area of agricultural land. Additionally, water contamination and shortages have been reported, along with the closure of three border crossings between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia. Thankfully, no casualties or injuries have been reported thus far in relation to the floods. |

Devastating snowstorm swept across eastern parts of Mongolia including Dornod, Sukhbaatar, Khentii provinces and certain provinces in Gobi areas, starting from around 06:00 AM on May 19, 2023 throughout the day and night until
around 13:00 PM on May 20, 2023. According to the National Agency for Meterogoloy and Environmental Monitoring, the average wind speed was 18-20 m/s and it reached 28-30 m/s at some point.
Due to the storm, 124 people (mostly from herder community) were reported missing as they were following
their livestock, which wandered off because of the storm. 122 people have been found but tragically 2 people in Sukhbaatar and Khentii provinces were found dead.
There have been severe infrastructural damages, including the collapse of 22 electricity sub-stations, which caused power outage in several counties (May 19-22, 2023); it was later restored as of May 24. 149 households have faced with the complete loss of gers (yurt, traditional Mongolia circular, domed tent-like dwelling), and 288 gers with partial damages, partial damage to 283 constructed houses/buildings, complete and partial damage to 317 fences, and partial damage to 70 vehicles of herders and non-herders. Official figure for the total number of people who were affected by the storm is not final but known number of affected people is roughly 5100, the impact is majorly on shelters, livelihoods and immediate needs, health. The most affected provinces are Sukhbaatar, Khentii, Dornod provinces.
As of May 25, the known livestock loss caused by the storm is significant (623,623 including 521,477 in Sukhbaatar, 107,695 in Khentii, and 1,451 in Dornod provinces). The number is expected to increase as local authorities are registering the loss of livestock on the ground. |
