Drought affected 420 communes, 79 districts, and 10 provinces for 8 months from January to August. Drought damaged to agriculture 62,702 ha of rice crop and the cost of the drought was estimated to be more than US$ 21.5 million. Statistics from the NCDM indicate the the drought had affected 2,047,340 people or 442,419 families.

Five people died after a helicopter carrying relief supplies to affected areas of Bajaur crashed due to bad weather. Lightning strikes also caused fatalities and damage during this period. The provincial disaster agency also reported flooding as a result of melting snow.
