Nepal's National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) said preliminary analysis of satellite images showed that an ice-and-rock landslide about 20 km northeast of the Rasuwagadhi border crossing caused a debris-laden flood in the Lhende River. Nepal's Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM) said satellite images showed that debris had blocked the river, forming a temporary lake which later burst.
