Famine(use other "Hazard" code instead),Nigeria: Nigeria is currently facing a national emergency due to worsening food insecurity and malnutrition. On April 14, 2025, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu declared a state of emergency on food security, recognizing the rapidly deteriorating situation marked by soaring food prices, widespread hunger, and severe acute malnutrition across several parts of the country. He further announced that food and water availability and affordability would now fall under the responsibilities of the National Security Council, underlining the critical link between food security and national stability, and requested humanitarian partners to scale up their support to the government's planned intervention

Flood,Bangladesh: The ongoing flood crisis in Bangladesh began in mid-May 2025, primarily triggered by heavy monsoon rainfall and upstream water flow from India. The situation has worsened significantly towards the end of May when a deep depression formed over the Bay of Bengal making landfall near the West Bengal-Bangladesh coast on 29 May 2025. This weather condition brought torrential rains and strong winds exacerbating the flooding particularly in the northeastern and southeastern regions of the country. As of 1 June 2025, several districts, including Sylhet, Sunamganj, Moulvibazar, Habiganj, Netrokona, Noakhali, Bhola, Khagrachari, Bandarban and Rangamati have been severely affected.

Flood,Viet Nam: In recent days, Ha Tinh Province has experienced an unusual heavy rainfall event, causing severe flooding and significant property damage. The heavy rains have led to serious flooding in many localities. In Cam Xuyen District, over 500 households were inundated, and many inter-village and inter-commune roads were cut off due to rising floodwaters. Notably, in Cam My Commune, floodwaters rose rapidly, submerging nearly the entire area, with around 450 households experiencing flood levels of 0.5 to 1.5 meters inside their homes.

Tech. Disaster,India: Authorities in India's southern Kerala state have issued an alert after a ship carrying oil and hazardous cargo leaked and sank off the state's coast in the Arabian Sea. The spill occurred in a Liberian-flagged vessel that capsized near Kochi city on Sunday. The coastal stretch is rich in biodiversity and is also an important tourist destination. All 24 crew members on board the ship have been rescued but some of the ship's 640 containers have reportedly been drifting towards the shore, prompting evacuations in the area.
