FF Flash Flood
LAO Lao People's Democratic Republic
The Xepian-Xe Nam Noy hydropower dam under construction in Attapeu province in Southeast of Laos collapsed for an unknown reason on Monday 23 July. Five billion cubic metres of water released by the dam collapse caused flash flooding in at least six nearby villages (Yai Thae, Hinlad, Mai, Thasengchan, Tha Hin and Samong). Some 7,000 people have been affected by the floods.
