A Lassa Fever outbreak in Nigeria has been is declared by the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control on the 24 January 2020. Initial reports show 689 suspected cases since the first week of January 2020, of which 258 are confirmed positive. The number of deaths reported from Lassa Fever is 41 with a case fatality rate of 15.9%
