Most provinces have experienced heavy rain causing overflow of main streams and rivers that lead to floods in several areas. Honiara and Guadalcanal especially have observed serious heavy rain triggering flooding and landslides affecting numerous communities. This heavy rain was triggered by a trough over the Solomon Islands and links to a low depression located northeast of Malaita. In the evening of 11 Nov, the first special weather bulletin was issued for Sikaiana and Temotu Province replacing the Strong Wind and Heavy Rain Warning with Low Depression now upgraded to Tropical Disturbance (TD02F) with central pressure of 1000hpa located 70km Northwest of Nupani Island, Temotu Province. The TDF02F is slow moving southeast towards Temotu. Heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected to continue in most provinces.
