| Comments: | On the morning of 11 June 2025, a large gas explosion happened in a multi-story apartment building in Chambarak, Gegharkunik province, Armenia. The explosion caused part of the building to collapse, and the structure has been declared completely destroyed and cannot be restored. The likely cause of the explosion is a gas leak, but the investigation is still ongoing. The force of the blast also damaged nearby buildings, which has made the situation more difficult for people living in the area. The explosion led to five confirmed deaths. In total, 86 people were injured. Of these, 40 people were hospitalized, including 20 children. The injured are receiving medical care, but many are also dealing with emotional and psychological effects caused by the explosion. |
