On 3 December, Mount Merapi located on the border between the province of Central Java and the Special Region of Yogyakarta, increased its volcanic activity with volcanic ash emission and volcanic rocks. The ash column was observed 3,000 m above the peak. According to the Indonesian National Board for Disaster Management (BNPB) and the ASEAN Disaster Information Network (ADINet), as of 3 December, at least 11 people died, nine have been injured, 28 are still missing and a total of 75 people have been affected.
