Comments: Heavy rainfall has caused widespread flooding and landslides across North Sumatra Province in northwestern Indonesia, resulting in casualties and significant damage.The National Agency for Disaster Countermeasure (BNPB) reports that eight people have died, 58 have been injured, and nearly 3,000 individuals have been evacuated in South Tapanuli Regency due to floods and landslides. In Central Tapanuli Regency, almost 2,000 houses have been affected by floods.

Land Slide,Indonesia: The death toll from flash floods and landslides on Indonesia's Sumatra island Friday rose to 174 on Friday with 79 people missing, authorities said. The death toll in North Sumatra province rose to 116, while 35 people died in Aceh. Rescuers also retrieved 23 bodies in West Sumatra, National Disaster Mitigation Agency's Chief Suharyanto said.
